Strength in Grace

A 32” by 40” fine art piece made for senior thesis with silk-wrapped paper as the warp and 28 gauge gold wire and silk as the weft in the small honeysuckle overshot pattern. Made on a 4-harness floor loom, this piece focuses on the strength aspect of “Grace & grace: elegance, movement, strength” by pairing stronger materials such as wire and silk with a material that is not associated with any kind of strength, paper.
